Prom girl (1)
As always May is month full of prom nights with their first dances, first kiss, love blooming, moms helping daughters in dress and make-up, etc. But for Alexandra “Alex” Dodd it’s now the worst time of the year… she doesn’t hate prom nights or anything else around on the contrary she loves it but she can’t share it with a girl of her own… her sweet daughter actually never existed because her husband Nicholas “Nick” Dodd never wanted children.
Alex and Nick met during high school and it was love at first sight well that’s what she thought but something is wrong… as Alex was doing something in Nick’s office, she sees a secret file on his computer saying Confession she watches into it, it’s a small text saying:
I can’t live with this secret anymore. I need to tell it to Alex, I know she’d hate me for it but it needs to get out of my chest. I always loved her and I know she loves me too but our first met back in high school wasn’t a surprise since I provoked it and made it possible. At that time, Alex was in love with a girl named Sarah and I made everything I could so she’d never be able to meet her again I sent her away with her parents, then before our marriage my parents told me that Alex is my sister that we can’t marry and if we do they’d scream the truth so… I had to make sure they’d never say a word, killed them both and hid their bodies. I hope Alex will never find these words or I’ll have to kill her too…
As Alex was reading those words, she looks at the picture of herself hold by her husband at prom the first year they met with the following mention:
Unbeknownst to her, Nick is behind and realizes she knows and when it’s too late, Alex feels the blade as Nick kills her…
However she wakes up in her bed, she thinks it’s a dream but something is strange and too real… it’s… it’s her teenage bedroom, she recognizes the trophies from her soccer matches, her books in sophomore year, her best year as she remembers and year she met her husband…
Alex gets up from her bed, she feels nauseous as her eyes get blurry, she remembers that she didn’t have her Lasik surgery yet at this time and she finds her glasses, she puts them on as she sees better. On the cupboard she sees a dark blue dress, she wonders why then on her desk she sees a message and reads it as it says:
Dear Alexandra,
Your Guardian Angel.
As she keeps reading the message she hears her mom screaming “ALEX… HUNNIE… BREAKFAST IS READY…”
Alex can’t believe it… her parents stopped talking to her before her wedding… well she thought so but truth was that her parents were also killed by her husband… On her way down Alex sees her reflection on the mirror, her beautiful natural chestnut hair, her blue eyes, her braces smile, her natural breast, all these that her husband asked her to mutilate for love when it was only for his own pleasure and control. She’s got breakfast with her parents before school, since prom is tomorrow, she’s got plenty of time to get ready and get rid of this man she used to love. Back in her room, Alex sees her ID saying:
Alex is so happy to have her maiden name again, she couldn’t despise more her married name than now. After a quick shower, she goes to the bus stop earlier than usual remembering that Nick picked her in his car in another life… Inside the bus, she sees Sarah and she feels flustered, her heart hammers, her cheeks go crimson as she sits next to her… the drive from the house till school goes way too fast but Alex has the time to tell her feelings to Sarah as they kiss each other.
During the day, Nick is watching Alex like a vulture, his eyes killing anyone approaching his prize but his face turns livid when he hears his name in the corridors for the principal’s office. Once there he sees his parents and also Alex with her parents, during an hour, Nick sees his life changing, the dozens of pictures he took of Alex, following her almost stalking her, the threat message he was about to send to Sarah. From this moment Nick is expelled from school and sent this instant to another school on the other side on the country, finally Alex and Sarah are free to be together…
On this beautiful prom day, the whole school is in purple color, Alex is wearing her dark blue prom dress with her purple Converse to be on school color, same for Sarah wearing a stunning little black dress with the same purple Converse, the girls have fun together dancing, talking, drinking non alcoholic beverages such as Hawaiian Punch. After hours of dancing and laughing the girls pose together with Sarah on the left in her black dress and Alex on the right with the same dark blue dress and cute braces smile. Alex publishes it with Sarah on collab saying:
Later Sarah imprints this picture and writes behind these lovely words
With my forever baby girl. I love you so much baby
