Christmas Day (1)
“For years Christmas was my favorite time of the year… I loved decorating the tree, going to the Christmas markets drinking hot chocolate, going to see the Christmas decorations in town with my parents then with my wife and children when they were younger… then time has passed, my priorities changed, my work changed as well… I worked longer and harder, we had a better life but taking that decision… I lost my family; I couldn’t attend my parents’ funerals… I missed my children’s birthdays, games… even graduation… Now they hate me for it… last time I spoke to my kids… it was for my beloved wife’s funerals and they barely talked to me… I… tonight is the first time I spend Christmas really alone and I wish I could do something… I wish I could be closed to them like… before…” That’s what the 85 years old Charlie Denner says to himself as he watches TV alone… on the screen it’s a Christmas movie with the same romantic story, a woman and a man working way too much, spending time finally with their families for Christmas to finally found each other and love each other.
More he watches it, more he feels his eyes tearing and watering… he says to himself: “What’s happening to me… I never cried to this before… oh I must be really old or… way too alone to feel like this…”
But unbeknownst to him, his body starts changing… it starts with his legs getting shorter, same for his feet, his toe nails gain deep red varnish, his legs old and wrinkled are young and soft and hairs that still stayed have fallen off, his legs lose muscles but gain flexibility. At this moment Charlie realizes something is wrong but her mind is assaulted by memories of a woman called Audrey Maureen Gray, she’s 25 years old, she works in a shopping center as manager of a restaurant, that’s how she met Felicia June Denner, Charlie’s granddaughter… It was love at first sight definitely… they started at first as friends and became rapidly best friends then they became lovers… to finally live together in a nice apartment complex all in 5 months only.
While her new memories sink in, Audrey’s house change to become this cozy but little apartment in the middle of Manhattan, it’s snowy as a big grey couch appears out of nowhere with Christmas pillows, two cup with hot chocolate inside, on the TV screen it’s the same movie but TV screen is bigger. Audrey’s old blue pajamas change as it becomes white with red stripes, on her feet appear Christmas socks also red and white with some green, her pajama’s top opens to reveal underneath a white tank top, her nipples underneath are poking through top as Felicia appears of nowhere in this new apartment. Audrey’s fingers are full of rings and each of them has a story that Audrey knows now including a promise ring that Felicia gave her, Audrey did the same…
Everything is now ready and time is back to normal as Felicia comes with her phone as she says: “Hey babe… want to do some cute pictures for socials…”
Audrey smiles after a second feeling off as she says: “Oh sure wifey…”
Felicia looks at her as she says: “I love when you call me wifey… you know that…”
Audrey to answer: “Of course… that’s why I say it all the time… I want to put that big wedding ring on your finger and show to the world you’re my wifey…”
That’s when Felicia’s mom comes inside and says: “Then when do you ask her the question?” F
elicia all red answers with a smile: “MOM!!! Here… can you take some pictures of us please…”
Her mom takes these adorable pictures with Felicia on the left and Audrey on the right both in the same cute Christmas jammies, looking at each other full of love before kissing each other. Felicia takes back her phone as she publishes the three pictures her mom takes since they’re all adorable and writes down:
