Henrietta Chesterton is an elderly woman, she’s 78 years old, her husband James died last year of heart attack he was 85. Since then Henrietta is never out of home, she’s single, her friends are dead either or as good as since they have Alzheimer.
But one morning few days before Christmas, someone rings Henrietta’s door bell, when Henrietta opens the door, she sees on her doorstep a very beautiful young woman all smiling and so cute in her colorful outfit, she wears a nice shiny red jean with red and green hoodie and green shoes, she looks like an elf with her bonnet hiding her long brunette hair and her name is Merry. In other time, Henrietta would never open the door and less let that person enter nevertheless something back in her mind like a voice convince her to let this young woman come inside.
Henrietta’s house is sad, only pictures of her husband and children all gone spending Christmas with their in-laws much younger and in better health, Merry tells her to add some feast and happiness in this house and actually tells her she’s here to realize James’ dream, Henrietta is speechless, her husband asked before his death that his wife should live forever happy and so Merry is here to fulfill that wish.
Merry snaps her fingers and suddenly the house is suddenly changing, the sad and dark place becomes full of light and so many Christmas decorations and a huge Christmas tree in the living-room, even outside the house is now full of electric lights and many other decorations. Henrietta still can’t believe it and yet it’s not over because Merry snaps again her fingers and she appears in a cute red and black Christmas jammies with cute fuzzy slippers and suddenly Henrietta feels her body going nub falling on her armchair, her cane disappears same for her glasses, her wrinkled skin rejuvenate leaving her youthful, her white hair colors again for a beautiful chestnut, her eyes once brown are now bright blue, her breast saggy is now full of youth same for her reproductive system.
Her old woman clothes disappear for the exact same Christmas jammies and slippers, her long hair loose until now is done in a cute ponytail with a red and black scrunchie, finally her wedding ring she put in a drawer is now back on her finger with new initials carved in it.
Henrietta’s mind grows foggy, all her life memories slip away, happy and bad memories then new memories print in her head, she remembers calling herself Noelle her parents named her like this because they liked the sound of Christmas in French, making this particular moment of the year so special, she grows up in happy family with sisters and brothers, then she moved for studies until she has met the love of her life, Merry. After her diploma she went back to her hometown and marries with Merry and now spends every Christmas at home with their families…
Noelle opens her eyes, she looks Merry and kisses her with passion, at this moment her younger sister takes this lovely picture before opening presents the morning of Christmas…
